In March 2015, Newark Communities For Accountable Policing (N-CAP) urged the Department of Justice (DOJ) (PDF) to build transparency into its selection process for a federal monitor to oversee policing reforms in Newark. N-CAP strongly believes that residents of Newark should have a say in decisions about the future of their police department.
